Events in July

At Y3 in July (of interest to English Speakers) 2-18  Y3 Studio Artists Exhibition

It is CAP's policy to rotate studio occupancy among its members. Artists may use a studio for two years. At the end of that time, occupancy is given to a new artist.  In June, such a transition took place and a new group of artists has moved in.  We have prepared an exhibition of the incoming and continuing artists, so please visit us and learn about the new people and the new work.

23-24   Cultural Typhoon, Kobe.

An international event with invited speakers from across Japan and around the World.

This year's theme is "Rock the Boat", and it considers ways of rethinking current social constructs. The event's committee proposes that this rethinking could develop around three pillars:

(1) Beyond Regional Thinking

(2) Migration/Labor/Poverty

(3) Counter Nostalgia.

Hosted by:

The Conference on Art and Art Projects

The Japan-Brazil Association

Kansai Brazilian Community

This is a great opportunity to participate in an important discourse of national and international significance. For more information see:

13:00~14:30  "Gamelan Open Class"

Cost: 1,500 yen

If you are familiar with and like gamelan music, here's a great chance to go deeper.

CAP hosts a very good gamelan music group and they are offering an open class.
